Lucknow University Samarth Portal: LURN, Login & Result
Lucknow University uses its Samarth portal, lkounivadm.samarth.edu.in, for admission: LURN registration, the application form and merit-list notices. Semester exam forms and results do not run on Samarth. They sit on the university’s own exam and result websites. Students who search for their result on Samarth are looking in the wrong place.
The same applies to everyone admitted through the centralised process, at the campus or at one of the 609 participating colleges listed on the portal for 2026-27. If you are new to how university portals work, start with our Samarth portal login and registration page; this one covers only LU.

This is an independent guide, not a Lucknow University website. We never ask for your password, OTP or fees. Pay only on the official LU addresses above.
Five LU addresses and what each one is for | लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय के पोर्टल
LU splits student work across five addresses. Two are on Samarth (admission and the student portal). Three are on lkouniv.ac.in: the counselling system for allotment and fee, the exam system, and the result site. Matching your task to the right address saves most of the confusion.
| Task | Address | Run on |
|---|---|---|
| LURN, admission form, entrance admit card, merit list notices | lkounivadm.samarth.edu.in | Samarth |
| Student account (registered with enrolment number or exam roll number) | lkouniv.samarth.edu.in | Samarth |
| UG or PG programme allotment result and admission fee | Allotment links on lkouniv.ac.in (counselling system at apps1.lkouniv.ac.in) | LU’s own site |
| Semester exam form | lkouniv.ac.in, under Examination | LU’s own site |
| Semester result | result.lkouniv.ac.in | LU’s own site |
Generate your LURN before you apply
The Lucknow University Registration Number (LURN) is compulsory for admission to LU and its associated colleges. For 2026-27 it is generated on the Samarth admission portal for a fee of ₹100. The university’s own guideline sets out the steps below, and the LURN only appears after payment succeeds.
- Open lkouniv.ac.in and click the LURN link in the pop-up or on the Admission page. It takes you to lkounivadm.samarth.edu.in.
- Click New Registration and create your login ID. Note it down.
- Use a valid email ID you already own. The OTP goes to that email, and the process stops without it.
- Go back to the same page, click Login, and complete your profile: your name, father’s name, mother’s name and other details.
- Pay ₹100 through the payment gateway.
- Your LURN is generated as soon as payment completes. Write it down.
- Click Print Form to get a copy of your LURN any time later. Keep the printout.

If money is deducted but payment does not show as successful, do not pay again for 48 hours. LU’s guideline states this rule directly.
The login page adds one more rule: type your name and other details exactly as on your Class X board marksheet.
After the LURN: the application form and its fee
With your LURN ready, you sign back in and apply for programmes on the same portal. For 2026-27, UG online applications opened on 17 April 2026, and the portal listed 341 programmes across participating colleges. Registration for the 2026-27 cycle has now closed; the portal shows a final deadline of 26 October 2026.
Application fees for 2026-27 UG programmes, from LU’s notice of 18 April 2026:
| Programme | General, OBC, EWS | SC, ST, PwBD |
|---|---|---|
| UG (BA, BSc, BCom and similar) | ₹1,200 | ₹600 |
| UG professional (BBA, BBA Tourism and Hospitality, BCA, BHM CT) | ₹1,500 | ₹750 |
| D.Pharma | ₹1,500 | ₹750 |
These fees are separate from the ₹100 LURN fee. PG fees appear in the PG Admission Brochure 2026-27 on the portal’s notice page.
Merit list, allotment and admission fee
LU publishes merit lists as notices on the Samarth admission portal; the UG Merit List 2026 went up on 9 July 2026. Allotment results and the admission fee are handled on LU’s own counselling system, reached through the “UG Programme Allotment Result and Fee Submission” and “PG Programme Allotment Result and Fee Submission” links on lkouniv.ac.in.
Keep your LURN and your Samarth login handy at every round. If you also applied to other universities in Lucknow or nearby, their portals follow different rules: the CSJMU admission portal in Kanpur serves its affiliated colleges directly, and Banaras Hindu University counselling is tied to CUET scores.
Exam form: filled on lkouniv.ac.in, not on Samarth
For the June 2026 even-semester exams, LU’s office memo of 31 March 2026 told students to fill the online exam form on lkouniv.ac.in, with 13 April 2026 as the last date. Second-semester UG and PG students were excluded from that notice. The memo also explained who pays what.
| Student type | What the memo says |
|---|---|
| Regular university student | No separate exam fee. Fill the form online and submit it, with your semester fee receipt, at your head of department’s office |
| Back paper, improvement or ex-student | Pay the exam fee online with the form, then submit it at your department |
| Associated college student | Submit the online form with the prescribed exam fee at your own college |
Colleges forward the forms through their college login. If your form is not forwarded, your college office is the place to ask.
Lucknow University result 2026
LU publishes semester results on result.lkouniv.ac.in, not on Samarth. The “Results” menu on lkouniv.ac.in lists each cycle by name, including “Odd Semester Result 2025-26” and “Even Semester Result 2025-26”. Pick the right cycle, enter your details and download the marksheet.
The Samarth student portal has a “Public Notice/Results” page too, but it had no entries when checked on 29 October 2026.
Registering on the LU student portal
The student portal at lkouniv.samarth.edu.in has its own New Registration form. Unlike the admission portal, it does not use your email. You choose a programme, give your name as on your ID card, and register with either your enrolment number or your examination roll number.
- Open lkouniv.samarth.edu.in and click New Registration.
- Select your programme.
- Enter your name as on your ID card.
- Under Mode of Registration, choose Enrolment Number or Examination Roll Number.
- Type the number, then the captcha, and click Submit.
- Return to the sign-in page. Use Reset Password there if you forget it later.
LU Samarth login problems | लॉगिन की समस्याएं
LU’s admission login runs on your email. The portal accepts your registration number or registered email as the login, sends codes to that email, and offers two recovery links. If neither helps, LU’s admission helpdesk is listed on the portal itself.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Forgot admission portal password | Click Forgot Password on the login page |
| Verification code never arrived | Click Resend Account Verification Code, and check spam |
| OTP goes to an email you cannot open | You cannot complete LURN without it. Contact the admission helpdesk below |
| Payment deducted, LURN not generated | Wait 48 hours before paying again, as LU’s guideline says |
| Form rejected for a name mismatch | Your name must match your Class X board marksheet exactly |
| Exam form not visible on Samarth | LU exam forms are filled on lkouniv.ac.in |
LU admission helpdesk (from the official admission portal): 7991205008, luadmission2026@gmail.com, Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
LU students also ask
Is LURN the same as the admission form?
No. LURN is a ₹100 registration that gives you a number. You then apply for programmes separately, with a separate application fee, on the same Samarth admission portal.
Can I log in with my email or my registration number?
The LU admission login box accepts either your registration number or your registered email. The OTP and verification code always go to the registered email.
Where do I fill the LU semester exam form?
On lkouniv.ac.in, not on Samarth. LU’s memo of 31 March 2026 for the June 2026 exams named lkouniv.ac.in as the place to fill the form.
Where is the Lucknow University result 2026?
On result.lkouniv.ac.in. Choose the cycle, such as “Even Semester Result 2025-26”, from the Results menu on lkouniv.ac.in.
Is the 2026-27 LU admission portal still open?
No. Registration for the 2026-27 cycle closed on 26 October 2026, according to the portal. Watch lkouniv.ac.in for the next cycle.
