Samarth Portal Bihar: University Admission Portals, Logins
Bihar’s state universities each run their own Samarth admission portal, and most addresses follow one rule: the university’s short name, then “adm”, then .samarth.edu.in. Lalit Narayan Mithila University is lnmuadm.samarth.edu.in, for example. The exceptions are the ones that send students to the wrong page. Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University is bhagalpuradm, not tmbuadm, and Magadh University spells out its name in magadhuniversityadm.
There is no single Bihar form. You apply, and later log in, on the portal of the university your college belongs to.
Look up your portal by the city you study in
Patna. Patna University: pupadm.samarth.edu.in. Patliputra University: ppupadm.samarth.edu.in. Aryabhatta Knowledge University also has one: akubiharadm.samarth.edu.in.
Bhagalpur. Two different universities answer a “Samarth portal Bhagalpur” search. Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University uses bhagalpuradm.samarth.edu.in. Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, uses bausabouradm.samarth.edu.in.
Darbhanga. Lalit Narayan Mithila University: lnmuadm.samarth.edu.in.
Bodh Gaya. Magadh University: magadhuniversityadm.samarth.edu.in.
Muzaffarpur. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University: brabuadm.samarth.edu.in.
Ara. Veer Kunwar Singh University: vksuadm.samarth.edu.in.
Chapra. Jai Prakash University: jpvadm.samarth.edu.in. The address uses “jpv”, not “jpu”.
Munger. Munger University: mungeruniversityadm.samarth.edu.in. Besides UG and LL.B., its portal also carries the PhD admission notices.
Purnia. Purnea University: purneauniversityadm.samarth.edu.in.
For 2026-27, these portals now show registration as closed. LNMU, TMBU, Munger University, VKSU and Patna University closed on 8 October 2026; Magadh University and Jai Prakash University on 12 October; Purnea University on 28 October.
Patna University and Patliputra University
Both are in Patna, and their portals work a little differently.
Patna University closed 2026-27 registration on 8 October 2026. Its portal also carried the spot round for the constituent colleges: applicants who had applied in that round were told to report to the college on 10, 11 and 12 October 2026, with no request accepted after 12 October. Students admitted in 2025-26 will find a separate re-admission link for PG Regular and UG Regular in the portal’s notices. The LL.B. and LL.M. merit lists for the new sessions are posted there too.
Patliputra University runs its admission through the same kind of account, with a few rules set out on its own pages:
- The account form asks for full name, date of birth, email (twice), password (twice) and mobile number (twice).
- Your name and other details must match your Class X board marksheet.
- You may apply for one programme only, so pay the fee only for the course you finally want.
- Write your Aadhaar number in the ID proof section.
- PPU’s document checklist lists a scanned photograph and signature under 500 KB each, and educational and category certificates under 1024 KB.
PPU’s last open window for 2026-27 was the UG (Vocational) spot round, extended until 29 October 2026. Its portal also posted spot-round notices for PG (Regular), PG (Vocational) and B.A. LL.B. / LL.B.
“Samarth portal login Bihar”: which login you need
The login on these portals is for applicants who already created an account. On Patliputra University’s and BRABU’s portals you sign in with your registered email address, not a roll number. PPU’s instructions say login works only through the registered email, so use an address you will still have access to when merit lists come out.
BRABU’s login page has a link to reset a forgotten password and another to request a new account verification code if the first one never arrived.
Before you call the Need Assistance number
The home page of each admission portal has a Need Assistance box, but not every number in it is real. On Magadh University’s, LNMU’s and Munger University’s portals the box shows +91 9999999999. Purnea University’s shows 99999999. These are placeholders, so write to the email the university gives instead, or contact your college.

Jai Prakash University’s box adds a condition: its contact details are only for the 2026 UG CBCS, vocational and PG CBCS sessions. Students of earlier sessions are asked not to use them for provisional, migration or degree certificates, and to contact their college or the university instead.
Why Bihar’s universities moved to Samarth
The switch came from the state. Aryabhatta Knowledge University’s Samarth implementation page records that the Bihar State Higher Education Council directed all Bihar universities to implement Samarth modules on 2 September 2025. A later directive set 31 December 2025 for full implementation of all modules. The Chancellor also chaired a meeting with Vice Chancellors and the Department of Higher Education on the Samarth portal on 12 May 2026.
