BHU Samarth Portal: CAP UG/PG, Student & Staff Login
Banaras Hindu University runs four separate Samarth logins: one for UG admission, one for PG admission, one for enrolled students and one for staff. Your login ID changes with each. Applicants sign in with their CUET application number, students with an enrolment or exam roll number, and employees on a portal of their own.
All four sit on BHU’s instance of the Samarth eGov Suite, the Ministry of Education platform used by 5,000+ institutions (August 2024).
Buttons (open in a new tab):
- BHU student portal (official)
- BHU UG admission, CAP-UG (official)
- BHU PG admission, CAP-PG (official)
- BHU employee portal (official)
This is an independent guide, not a BHU website. We never ask for your password, OTP or fees.
Four BHU logins, matched to who you are | किसके लिए कौन सा लॉगिन
Pick your login by role, not by search result. BHU separates applicants from students, and students from staff, so a password that works on one portal will not work on another. The ID you type also changes from portal to portal, so check which one each portal expects.
- Applying to a UG programme: bhucuet.samarth.edu.in. You log in with your CUET (UG) application number, and only that number.
- Applying to a PG programme: bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in. Registration needs your valid NTA application number.
- Already a BHU student: bhu.samarth.edu.in. You register with your enrolment number or examination roll number.
- BHU employee: bhu.samarth.ac.in, with its own “First Time Login” and “Forgot Password” links.
Job applicants are a fifth group: BHU’s own user manual names bhunt.samarth.edu.in as its recruitment portal.
BHU UG and PG admission (CAP) on Samarth
BHU fills its CUET-based seats through a Combined Allotment Program, run separately for UG and PG. Both 2026-27 cycles are now closed: CAP-UG registration ended on 24 August 2026 and CAP-PG on 14 July 2026. The rules below come from each portal’s own instructions and will guide the next cycle.
| CAP-UG 2026-27 | CAP-PG 2026-27 | |
|---|---|---|
| Portal | bhucuet.samarth.edu.in | bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in |
| Based on | CUET (UG) 2026 score, with a positive score in the relevant papers | CUET (PG) 2026, with BHU selected in your CUET form |
| Must match NTA records | Name, date of birth, gender, category | Date of birth, gender, category, programme choice |
| Registration fee, UR/OBC-NCL/EWS | ₹500 | ₹300 |
| Registration fee, SC/ST/PwBD | ₹250 | ₹150 |
| Keep scanned | Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates; category certificate if any | Class 10 and 12 marksheets; all UG semester marksheets; birth certificate |
| Final registration date shown | 24 August 2026 | 14 July 2026 |
The fee is non-refundable and paid online. On the UG portal, the SC/ST/PwBD figure reads ₹250 but the words beside it say “Rupees Three Hundred only”; check the BHU UG information bulletin for the correct amount next cycle.
Three warnings from the portals themselves:
- A mismatch with your NTA details can cancel your candidature.
- No correction is entertained after final submission.
- Registration does not guarantee admission. Admission stays provisional until BHU verifies your original documents.
If you are still in Class 12 results season, the UG portal accepts a bona fide or appearing certificate from your school head. BHU also recommends a laptop or desktop with a stable connection rather than a phone.
Comparing options? The CSAS UG admission at DU also takes your CUET application number, while IGNOU admission with an APAAR ID needs no CUET at all.
Course selection-cum-exam form on the student portal
Once admitted, BHU students choose their courses and fill the exam form in one step on bhu.samarth.edu.in. BHU publishes each window as a public notice on that same portal. The current notice (22 October 2026) covers UG Semester I for 2026-27, with 30 October 2026 as the last date.
After you submit, your faculty, department, school, centre or college verifies the form. They must send the verified nominal roll to the Controller of Examinations by 5 November 2026. If your form is not verified, raise it with your department before that date.
The student portal’s notice board is worth checking weekly. Between July and October 2026 it carried exam schedules, venue changes, a revaluation notification (9 July 2026) and two re-openings of the course selection form.
Creating your BHU student account
New students register once on bhu.samarth.edu.in using New Registration. The form asks you to select your programme and type your name as on your ID card. Then choose a mode of registration, either Enrolment Number or Examination Roll Number, enter it with the captcha, and submit.
After that, sign in from the same page. If you forget your password, the Reset Password link sits beside New Registration.

When a BHU login fails | लॉगिन फेल होने पर
A BHU login can fail with the right password if you are on the wrong portal, or on the right portal if you type the wrong ID. Check which portal you are on first, then the ID type it expects. Only then reset the password. The fixes below follow that order.
- “Invalid” on the UG admission portal: it accepts your CUET application number only. Use “Forgot Password? Click to Reset your Password” if needed.
- Your admission password fails on the student portal: they are separate accounts. Create the student account through New Registration.
- Enrolment number not accepted: recheck the programme you selected, or register with your examination roll number instead.
- Exam form missing: check the student portal’s public notices; BHU re-opens the form by notice when it allows late submission.
- Staff password lost: use “Forgot Password? Click Here” on bhu.samarth.ac.in.
- Admission queries: email admission.help@bhu.ac.in, the helpdesk both CAP portals list.
