HNBGU Samarth Portal: Student Login, CUET & UET Admission
HNB Garhwal University is a central university, so it does not use Uttarakhand’s state admission portals. It runs its own Samarth sites from Srinagar Garhwal: one for enrolled students, one for CUET-based UG admission and one for its University Entrance Test (UET). Which one you need depends on whether you are already a student or still applying.
The student portal is hnbgu.samarth.edu.in. HNBGU lists it, along with its other online services, on the Online Facility page of hnbgu.ac.in.
Looking for an HNBGU result on Samarth?
You will not find a result link among HNBGU’s Samarth addresses. The university’s Online Facility page lists its Samarth student portal, admission portals, recruitment and LMS links, but no result portal on Samarth. For exams it lists a separate Online CBCS Examination System Portal at online.hnbgu.ac.in.
So a search for “HNBGU Samarth result” leads to the wrong place if you stop at the student portal. Check the university’s own examination pages and notices for your programme instead.
One more trap in this search: “Samarth portal NIT Srinagar” is the National Institute of Technology in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. HNBGU is in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, and its Samarth addresses begin with hnbgu.
Activating your account on hnbgu.samarth.edu.in
HNBGU made registration on its Samarth student portal compulsory for newly admitted students, as part of the Student Life Cycle the Ministry of Education asked universities to run on Samarth. Its 2024-25 circulars covered first-semester UG, PG, diploma, PG diploma and integrated students, both on the university campuses and in affiliated colleges.
You register with the enrolment number the university assigns you. The circulars attached lists of these numbers for first-semester students. On the registration form you select your programme, type your name as on your ID card and choose a mode of registration, Enrolment Number or Examination Roll Number. The sign-in page then asks for your username and password, and Reset Password sits beside New Registration if you forget it.

Registration is not the last step. After your first login, HNBGU’s circulars ask you to link your Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID to your Samarth student account. Keep your ABC ID ready when you sign in.
If your enrolment number is missing or wrong, the route depends on where you study. Campus students were given samarthhnbguadmission@gmail.com for enrolment number corrections, with supporting documents, and for other registration queries. Students of affiliated colleges were told to contact their college’s Campus Head or the in-charge of the admission section.
UG admission through CUET, and the merit-based round
HNBGU takes CUET (UG) applicants on hnbgucuet.samarth.edu.in, for its campuses and for affiliated colleges and institutes. For 2026-27, its admission notification (Circular 222, dated 11 July 2026) opened registration from 12 to 21 July 2026 for candidates who had appeared in CUET (UG) 2026.
The same portal later carried a round for vacant seats (Circular 333) and a re-opening for merit-based admissions in UG and PG programmes (Circular 440, posted on 23 September 2026). The portal now shows the 2026-27 registration as closed, with 25 September 2026 as its deadline.
The circular gives one instruction that saves trouble later: before choosing an affiliated college on the portal, check with that college whether it offers the programme and what it requires. Admission queries go to the helpline on the portal: 01346 297333 and hnbguadmissions2026@gmail.com.
UET 2026: PG, B.Ed, LL.B and other programmes
Admission through HNBGU’s own entrance, UET 2026, runs on a separate address. It covers PG programmes, B.Ed, M.Ed, B.P.Ed, LL.B, LL.M and PG diploma programmes: hnbguadmission.samarth.edu.in/entrance/. If you sat UET 2026, this is your admission portal, not the student portal or the CUET site.
The login works differently from the student portal. You first verify your registered email through the Account Verification Code option, then log in with that email as the username. The password rule for this portal is set out in HNBGU’s UET circulars; use it exactly as the circular gives it. After logging in, you choose the campus or affiliated college and the programme.
For 2026-27, HNBGU reopened this portal from 4 to 8 September 2026 for vacant seats (Circular 369) and held counselling for university campuses on 14 September. Applicants for affiliated colleges were asked to contact those colleges directly about seats.
Other HNBGU Samarth addresses on the university’s list
A few more Samarth addresses appear on HNBGU’s Online Facility page. The PhD entrance registration link is hnbguadm.samarth.edu.in. The DACE online application form is on hnbgudaceadmission.samarth.edu.in, and the university’s learning management system is lms-hnbgu.samarth.ac.in. Staff information sits on hnbgu.samarth.ac.in, and non-teaching recruitment on hnbgunt.samarth.edu.in. None of these replaces the student portal for an enrolled student.
