Samarth Portal UP Registration: University-Wise Portals

There is no single “Samarth portal UP” registration form. Uttar Pradesh moved its state universities and their affiliated colleges onto Samarth, but each state university runs its own Samarth admission portal. You register on the portal of the university your college is affiliated to, not on one state website.

The state’s decision is real. In July 2025 Samarth eGov reported that the UP government would run Samarth in all its universities and colleges, that all government universities and affiliated colleges had already registered, and that private ERP systems were to be phased out by the end of 2025. What students see, though, is one Samarth portal per university.

Find your affiliating university, then its portal

Your college’s affiliating university decides where you apply. If you are not sure which one it is, check your college’s website or prospectus; the affiliating university is named there. Then go to that university’s admission portal. Many use the university’s short name followed by “adm” on samarth.edu.in, but not all, so take the address from the university’s own website.

These are the state university admission portals on Samarth, grouped by region:

Western UP

What registration asks for is similar across these portals. Prof. Rajendra Singh University’s help page, for example, lists an active email address, a mobile number and your date of birth as on your Class 10 certificate, with an OTP sent to both email and mobile. Your own portal’s Help Center has the exact list.

Which UP portals are still open

Most UP state university portals have closed their 2026-27 registration. The main exception is Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, whose portal shows new registration open until 31 October 2026. For technical courses, AKTU’s admission portal shows a registration deadline of 30 October 2026.

Recent closings show the pattern. Maa Shakumbhari University closed on 14 September 2026; RMLAU on 24 October; Bundelkhand University on 25 October; Lucknow University and CSJMU on 26 October. Rohilkhand University’s portal opened short spot-round registration for a few programmes, such as B.Pharma lateral entry and M.Pharma, and for listed university campus programmes. When a portal shows “closed”, wait for that university’s notice for the next cycle.

Central universities in UP use separate portals

The state’s Samarth roll-out covers government universities and their affiliated colleges. Central universities located in Uttar Pradesh, such as Banaras Hindu University, run their own admission portals, separate from the state universities’ portals. An account on a state university’s admission portal does not work on a central university’s portal, or the other way round.

Technical courses: UPTAC on AKTU’s Samarth portal

Admission to the engineering and other professional colleges under AKTU runs through UPTAC, the Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling, on uptac.samarth.edu.in, managed by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. AKTU’s own admission portal is aktuadm.samarth.edu.in.

The UPTAC login box takes your registration number or registered email, then a password and a captcha. If the account verification code did not arrive, the page has a Resend Account Verification Code link, and a Forgot Password link for resets.

There is no single UP Samarth helpline

Search results promise a “Samarth portal helpline number UP”, but none of the portals we checked lists a single state number. Help comes from the university whose portal you used, through the Need Assistance or Contact Us box on that portal. A few that the portals list:

After admission: a second login on a different address

Admission and your student account sit on different Samarth addresses at the same university. Once you are admitted, your student account is on the university’s student portal, which drops the “adm” from the address. You create that account separately, with your enrolment number or examination roll number.

Examples from the universities above: lkouniv.samarth.edu.in at Lucknow, csjmu.samarth.edu.in at Kanpur, rmlau.samarth.edu.in at Ayodhya and bujhansi.samarth.edu.in at Jhansi. Exam forms and results do not always run on these student portals; some universities keep them on their own exam websites, so follow your university’s exam notice for those.
